The Homeschool Science Squad is a science club for homeschool students in the greater Jacksonville, Florida area, ages 5-18. The purpose of the group is for students to work together to develop a STEAM booth, and participate in the Jacksonville Science Festival.<\/p>\n

Blight conditions can lower surrounding property values, create havens for crime and illegal activity, and can threaten the public health and safety of a community. It can be a source of despair or cynicism for people who have witnessed the decline of a particular building or neighborhood over time. A prototype will also be demonstrated to show the stages of development in the project.<\/p>\n Our project is to build a four points of access electric wheelchair that can assist people with physical needs to be able to dance independently. Our chair will be able to make quick motions going backward and forward, side to side and complete 360s.<\/p>\n The four points of access will include, eye gaze, switches, Kinect movements and a remote. These four points of access will allow a wide range of differently abled people to access our chair independently. The aim is for physically challenged people be able to experience the pure joy of being able to move their body independently while dancing. Although our team member Molly Paris conceived the idea for herself to use at prom this year; our hope is to have it become a community wheelchair which will allow anyone with physical challenges the opportunity to dance.<\/p>\n Our JSF booth will be set up as a disco with our final product and prototype on display for visitors to interact with and try out.
